§ Mr. MacleanI have received a number of representations on this issue. I am determined that witnesses should be properly protected. The Criminal Justice and Public Order Bill will add to the remedies provided in the existing law by creating a new offence of witness intimidation with a maximum penalty of five years' imprisonment.
