§ Dr. Lynne Jones
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make it his policy to argue for the introduction of sanctions for breaches of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty or withdrawal from the treaty.

§ Mr. Hanley
The United Kingdom's policy on the non-proliferation treaty is to work towards its unconditional and indefinite extension in 1995. Questions of the imposition of mandatory United Nations sanctions are for the Security Council to decide in accordance with the United Nations charter, on a case by case basis.
