Mrs. Roche

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to his answer of 14 December,Official Report, column 535, what plans he has to ensure that deportees are advised of the immunisations which the Department of Health recommended for the country to which they are travelling, and that they and any children accompanying them are entitled to such immunisations.

The immigration service is considering the question of immunisation for those removed or deported under powers contained in the Immigration Act 1971, and their dependants, in consultation with other interested parties including the Department of Health. I will inform the hon. Member of the outcome.
