To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the United Nations presence in Cyprus.

The United Nations force in Cyprus—UNFICYP—currently totals some 1,300 personnel from the United Kingdom, Argentina and Austria. The United Kingdom contingent of over 400 personnel comprises a contribution to the headquarters staff, two companies of a roulement regiment in the infantry role and various support elements, including a flight of Army Air Corps helicopters.
