To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what are his reasons for giving a direction to refuse Satnam/Tesco, Tiviot way, Stockport, application No. 58636: if he intends to review his decision; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Key

We directed refusal because additional traffic generated by this proposed development could interfere with the safety and free flow of traffic on the M63, particularly at junction 13.

We shall review the direction if the applicants provide evidence to demonstrate that our concerns can be overcome.
