§ Mr. BowisThe Government take a close and active interest in the needs of children and young people who undertake responsibility at home for the well-being of a relative with a disability or chronic illness. The Department is funding, through the family support initiative, work in this field by Barnado's in Liverpool and, through core funding, is supporting the Carers National Association, which is conducting a young carers project.
