To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many vehicles were clamped by private contractors employed by the Metropolitan police in each of the past five years; what were the fees charged for removal of clamps in each of the past five years; and what are the criteria for assessing increases in these fees.

The figures for the numbers of vehicles clamped and the charge made for each of the past five years are given in the table. The charge is set at a level to recover the full cost to the police of the clamping operation. The charge is subject to annual review.
