Mr. David Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will give a list of current research contracts concerning any aspects of transport and the environment, giving costs and the names of consultants employed.

Mr. Atkins

There are 19 current research contracts which link aspects of transport with the environment. The total cost is £9.2 million.
