To ask the Secretary of State for Health when she expects to respond to the report of the Nuffield Council on Bioethics in relation to the insurance consequences of genetic screening.

Mr. Sackville

The scope of the report's findings go beyond the interest of the Department of Health. Ministers in this and other Government Departments will want to consider the reaction of public and professional interests before deciding whether action by the Government is needed and I will write to the hon. Member.
