§ Mr. CorbettTo ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage (1) what is the present value of the television licence fee concession for people registered as blind, adjusted for inflation since it was set at £1.25;
(2) how many people who are registered as blind obtain the television licence fee concession of £1.25.
§ Mr. BrookeThe £1.25 concession for registered blind people, if adjusted for inflation since 1971, would be worth £8.92 today. I understand that, in the year ended 31 March 1993, 40,731 registered blind people received the concession.
