To ask the Secretary of State for Health how much funding was made available for regional associations for the blind in each year since 1985; and if she will make a statement.

The Department has made available to the regional associations for the blind the following levels of funding:

From April 1994, under the visual impairment sub-programme of the training support programme TSP, the Department will be making £250,000 available to local authorities to spend specifically on the training of such workers.
