§ 28. Mr. Jonathan EvansTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales what action he is taking in relation to the recent housing policies of the Development Board for Rural Wales; and if he will make a statement.
§ Sir Wyn RobertsThe Public Accounts Committee, at a hearing on 24 January, took evidence from the 631W accounting officer of the Welsh Office and the chief executive of the Development Board for Rural Wales about matters raised in the report by the Comptroller and Auditor General on the board's 1992–93 annual accounts. The Committee will report in due course on the results of its inquiry. I do not wish to anticipate or pre-empt that report. The DBRW introduced revised rules and procedures for housing allocations in September 1993 which meet the statutory requirements.
