§ Mr. Baldry[holding answer 3 February 1994]: I have placed in the Library tables showing: standard spending assessments for the years 1990–91 to 1994–95; grant-related expenditure assessments for the years 1985–86 to 1989–90; and equivalent expenditure figures for the years 1985–86 to 1993–94 for each shire county. Since comparisons cannot be made between GREs and SSAs, nor between equivalent expenditures under the two regimes, the percentage changers are given between each year, between 1985–86 and 1989–90, and between 1990–91 and 1994–95.
