What is the total gross annual contribution made by the United Kingdom to the United Nations Organisation, and whether any arrears of repayment are due from the UN.
§ The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Baroness Chalker of Wallasey)In 1992 (the most recent figures available) the UK's total contribution to the UN Organisation was £292 million.
The UK is still owed 862,643 dollars for payment of a claim for contingent owned equipment for UNTAG (Namibia). It is due to be paid this month. We are also awaiting reimbursement for certain costs relating to our participation in the UN's operations in the former Yugoslavia (UNPROFOR) and Cyprus (UNFICYP).
