To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what response he has given to the letter from the president of the Nuclear Control Institute in regard to the economic viability of reprocessing at THORP; and when he received the letter.

The President of the Nuclear Control Institute's letter was received on 2 February. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment will be replying shortly.
