Mr. McFall

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received from the Archbishop of Glasgow, in respect of a meeting to discuss the implications for Roman Catholic schools of local government reorganisation; and what response he has made.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

Friend and I have corresponded on a number of occasions with the Roman Catholic Church authorities, including the Archbishop of Glasgow, about representations which the Church has made about local government re-organisation and we have indicated our willingness to meet to discuss matters further.
