HL Deb 08 February 1994 vol 551 c124WA
Lord Braine of Wheatley

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will place in the Library of the House any studies they have in their possession into the effects of violence on children and young people on television and video.

Earl Ferrers

Research which is produced or commissioned by the Government is usually placed in the Libraries of both Houses at the time when it is published. We are currently awaiting the results of research into the effects of screen violence on the young which has been commissioned jointly by the British Board of Film Classification, the Broadcasting Standards Council, the BBC and the Independent Television Commission. This is expected to be published in March.
