HL Deb 07 February 1994 vol 551 c105WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is their response to the unanimous resolution of the European Parliament calling on the EC and member states to recognise, receive and assist, deserters and conscientious objectors not serving in the various armed forces fighting in the former Yugoslavia.

The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Baroness Chalker of Wallasey)

The European Parliament resolution passed on 19th January concerned the policies of European Union member states on the general question of conscientious objection, and did not relate specifically to the former Yugoslavia. I have arranged for a copy to be placed in the Libraries of both Houses.
