§ Mr. Llew SmithTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence what safety and environmental protection precautions are taken at each of the ports used by his Department for the shipping abroad of armaments and explosives.
§ Mr. AitkenProtection is afforded through the licensing of commercial ports by the Health and Safety Executive as required by the Dangerous Substances in Harbour Areas Regulations 1987. Dockyard ports and the military berth at Marchwood are also licensed in accordance with HSE standards.
