HC Deb 04 February 1994 vol 236 c932W
Dr. Wright

To ask the Secretary of State for Education what right school governors have to visit and inspect schools of which they are governors.

Mr. Forth

The Education Acts do not give governors an express right to visit their schools; but governors have a range of statutory duties and powers, and are entitled to expect reasonable access to schools as necessary to allow them to carry out their functions.
