To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will make a statement on the implementation of the report of the expert maternity group "Changing Childbirth".

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Health announced on 24 January the Government's intention to implement in full the recommendations in the report of the expert maternity group. The report was previously the subject of extensive consultation with consumers, national health service and professional bodies, and its recommendations for establishing a woman-centred service were widely welcomed.
