To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what measures he plans to reduce tax evasion and avoidance.

§ Mr. Dorrell
The Government are determined to do all they can to curb both tax evasion and avoidance. In line with every budget over the last 14 years, the current Finance Bill includes a substantial package of measures to tackle avoidance. And both the Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise will continue under their existing powers to combat tax evasion.
