HC Deb 03 February 1994 vol 236 cc861-2W
Mr. Llwyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many representations he has received on the question of organophosphate sheep dips; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Redwood

The Veterinary Products Committee has recommended the introduction as soon as possible of a new certificate of competence for sheep dipping, which the Government have accepted. Interested parties have been consulted formally on the proposed order, in accordance with the Medicines Act 1968. Five responses have been received to date. We shall be considering all comments carefully before proceeding.

Mr. Redwood
