HC Deb 03 February 1994 vol 236 cc851-2W
Ms Primarolo

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what was the estimated population of each NHS region in each of the past five years.

Mr. Sackville

The latest population estimates, shown in the table, relate to mid-1991 and mid-1992. These take into account the results of the 1991 census of population. Retrospectively revised estimates for 1982–1990 will be published shortly in the "Office of Population Censuses and Surveys Monitor PP1/94/1", copies of which will be placed in the Library. The original annual estimates for 1981–1990 are available in the PP1 series of OPCS publications, copies of which are available in the Library.
