§ Mr. StewartHealth boards receive generous financial resources to allow them to purchase all health services for which they are responsible. It is for health boards themselves to set priorities for spend in accordance with the needs of their area. Other agencies, principally social work departments, have a part to play in the provision of day care.
Health boards and social work departments are aware that day care is one of the priorities set out in the White Paper, "Caring for People".
