(2) what progress is being made towards establishing a European standard to define a microlight aircraft; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. NorrisResponsibility for the safety regulation of civil aviation, including microlights, within the United Kingdom, rests with the Civil Aviation Authority. The Authority also participates fully in discussions, with other national aviation authorities, aimed at developing harmonised aviation requirements. I will therefore ask the chairman of the Authority to write to the hon. Member in response to his questions.
