§ 27. Mr. PopeTo ask the Secretary of State for Education what plans he has to reduce the amount of time it takes local education authorities to produce statements of special educational needs.
§ Mr. ForthSubject to Parliament's approval, from September this year regulations will set time limits within which statements must be made and a code of practice will provide guidance on how those limits should be met. Normally, the process should take no more than 26 weeks from start to finish.
