HC Deb 01 February 1994 vol 236 c684W
Dr. Godman

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many pregnant women received free dental treatment in each year since 1978–79.

Mr. Stewart

[holding answer 31 January 1994]: All pregnant women and women who have had a child within the previous 12 months are exempt from NHS dental charges and receive free dental treatment. Information is recorded on courses of treatment rather than individual patients treated. The total number of courses of dental treatment received by pregnant women and nursing mothers is contained in the table.
