HC Deb 20 December 1994 vol 251 c1060W
Mr. Charles Kennedy

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans he has to enable access to European funding for the Skye bridge approach roads following his decision to include the route from Glasgow to Uig, Isle of Skye, in the trans-European road network; and if he will make a statement.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

A decision by the European Commission and the Council of Ministers on proposed additions to the trans-European road network— TERN—including the route from Glasgow to Uig, Isle of Skye is expected early in 1995. Although a draft financial regulation, detailing the funding of TERN schemes, has yet to be approved, it is not intended to cover the retrospective funding of schemes.
