HC Deb 20 December 1994 vol 251 cc1056-7W
Mr. McAllion

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what incentives or support his Department has offered to local authorities since 1977 to reduce and eventually eliminate the use of school annexes.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

There has been no specific programme of support to local authorities for the elimination of the use of school annexes. However, the capital allocations for educational building have enabled authorities to undertake the extension or adaptation of main buildings to allow the withdrawal of annexes where they have considered that a priority.
