Mr. David Nicholson

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, pursuant to his answer of 6 December,Official Report, column 122, if he will give the numbers of persons in the United Kingdom in 1973 and 1983 with pre-tax incomes of (a) more than £400,000 and (b) between £200,000 and £400,000 at 1992–93 values, using the deflator for average earnings.
