§ Mr. David HuntThe recruitment and appointment of magistrates in the Duchy area follow the same pattern as in the remainder of the country. Advisory committees recommend suitable candidates to me after interviewing applicants and considering the balance of the bench, which takes into account age, profession, residence and political views. In this way we try to ensure that a bench broadly reflects the community that it serves.
