§ Mr. AitkenAs part of the review of radioactive waste management policy, the Government carried out an assessment of whether there is an economic case for delaying developing of the deep repository for radioactive waste being undertaken by UK Nirex Ltd. The results of this assessment are set out in the consultation document "Review of Radioactive Waste Management Policy Preliminary Conclusions" published by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment on 5 August. A copy has been placed in the Library of the House.
