I announced a comprehensive package of anti-discrimination measures on 24 November, which outlined the Government's plans to introduce legislation in the areas of employment, access to goods and services and the establishment of a national disability council and 931W other initiatives in the areas of transport and education to give disabled people greater independence. Our goal is the elimination of discrimination against disabled people.
The first phase of a publicity campaign aimed at raising awareness amongst the general public was launched in early December.
