§ Mr. ForthThe requirements for disabled access to new school buildings are currently set out in the Department's design note 18 "Access for Disabled People to Educational Buildings". As my hon. Friend the Minister for the Disabled announced on 24 November,Official Report, column 743, the Government intend to bring the requirements into line with the national standards specified in part M of the Building Regulations 1991. We shall be consulting on the necessary measures shortly.
