The Secretary of State has asked me to reply to your question about the absenteeism rate in the Employment Service for the years 1991, 1992 and 1993.Our central payroll records hold information on individual absence details for sickness absence, special leave without pay and maternity leave but not aggregated information on absenteeism.I am therefore unable to provide this information which could only be obtained at a disproportionate cost.I am sorry I cannot be more helpful.
