§ 30. Mr. Norman HoggTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what proposals he has in respect of excessive executive pay rises.
§ Mr. Alfred MorrisTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what plans he has to curb excessive executive pay rises; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. AitkenThe Government believe that companies should exercise restraint in setting remuneration packages for their executives and that they should reflect performance. The Government do not consider that its proper role is to set levels to pay for executives of private companies. The salaries and other remuneration of any private company are a matter for the company and its shareholders.
