HC Deb 14 December 1994 vol 251 c702W
22. Mr. Duncan

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if it is Her Majesty's Government's policy to be one of the first 65 countries to ratify the chemical weapons convention.

Mr. David Davis

The United Kingdom is committed to the effective implementation of the chemical weapons convention and will ratify the convention once the necessary implementing legislation is in place. The legislation will be introduced as soon as parliamentary time and other Government legislative priorities permit.
