§ Mr. SoamesThe United Kingdom has played an active part in discussions aimed at enhancing the capacity of the United Nations to mount peacekeeping operations. In addition, the British Army is developing a manual on peacekeeping on which there has been consultation with the United Nations. My Department is in regular contact with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on these matters.
