§ Mr. McLeishTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport what level of metropolitan grant will be payable to the English passenger transport executives for 1995–96; and what total grant will be payable by all passenger transport executives to passenger train operators for 1995–96.
§ Mr. Watts[holding answer 12 December 1994]: We intend to lay before Parliament, early next year, a special grant report in respect of the metropolitan railway grant for 1995–96 in England and Wales.
Total grant payable to the English PTEs will be calculated pursuant to that report, based on the costs of passenger train operations in all the PTE areas.
