HL Deb 13 December 1994 vol 559 c118WA
Lord Molloy

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What consultations are being undertaken with the consultant dermatologists at the St. John's dermatological centre at St. Thomas' Hospital and at the Ealing and Hammersmith hospitals about the future of the dermatological service at those hospitals.

Baroness Cumberlege

Ealing, Hammersmith and Hounslow Health Authority is conducting a review of dermatology service provision and is working closely with professional staff at a number of local hospitals. I understand the health authority seeks a more cost effective approach to service provision while maintaining standards of care. The noble Lord may wish to discuss the matter with the health authority chairman, Baroness Eccles of Moulton.

St. John's Dermatological Centre is part of the Guy's and St. Thomas' National Health Service Trust, and the noble Lord may wish to approach Lord Hayhoe, chairman of the trust, for further details.
