HC Deb 12 December 1994 vol 251 c528W
Mr. Hall

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how much is owed by the Highways Agency to the Great Central Railway in respect of work carried out at(a) Thurcaston on the A6 and (b) on the same road between Loughborough and Quorn; and when these payments will be made.

Mr. Watts

This is an operational matter for the Highways Agency. I have asked the chief executive to write to the hon. Member.

Letter from Lawrie Haynes to Mr. Mike Hall, dated 12 December 1994: I have been asked to reply to your recent Parliamentary Question about monies owed by the Highways Agency to the Great Central Railway in respect of work carried out on the A6 at Thurcaston and between Loughborough and Quorn. The only outstanding payment is a further advance of £13,500, plus interest, in respect of compensation for the works at Thurcaston. The payment is being processed and will complete the 90 per cent. advance payment of compensation required by the Land Compensation Act. The balance, with interest, will be paid as soon as final settlement is reached.
