To ask the President of the Board of Trade what recent representations he has received concerning the future large aircraft.

I have received many representations from interested parties including several United Kingdom aerospace companies and from hon. Members.

To ask the President of the Board of Trade what recent discussions he has had with the Secretary of State of Defence concerning the future large aircraft; and if he will make a statement.

My Department keeps in close contact with the Ministry of Defence on the future large aircraft and other projects with significant implications for United Kingdom industry.

To ask the President of the Board of Trade what assessment his Department has made of the impact on the aerospace industry if the future large aircraft is not procured by the Government.

My Department is considering the industrial implications of the future large aircraft with the Ministry of Defence and other interested Departments.
