To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs which countries of the British Commonwealth still retain the death penalty; and how many people in each country were under sentence of death on 16 November.

[pursuant to his reply 28 November 1994, Official Report, column 502]: The death penalty in Britain applies only to acts of treason and piracy with violence.
