§ Mr. Douglas HoggThe main naval base in the Murmansk region is in Severomorsk, some 15 km to 20 km from Murmansk. Royal Navy officers visited Severomorsk on 5 June at the invitation of the commander of the Russian northern fleet. On 22 October officers of the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and HM diplomatic service, and 11 British veterans visited Murmansk at the invitation of the regional governor.
