asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, and if so, when, they intend to introduce legislation correctly to transpose the EEC Equal Pay Directive 75/117/EEC into national law, in the light of the decision of the House of Lords in Equal Opportunities Commission v. Secretary of State for Employment, so that part-time workers and their employers are able to ascertain the full extent of their rights and obligations under the directive in accordance with the principle of legal certainty.

The Government have been giving careful consideration to the House of Lords judgment and expect to announce their conclusions shortly.
