HC Deb 05 December 1994 vol 251 c38W
Mr. Bayley

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list the planned expenditure and expected receipts, in each case item by item, which his Department estimates will contribute to the net income of £770 million in 1995–96 and £325 million in 1996–97, and net expenditure of £600 million in 1997–98 under the heading "Privatisation effects" in the table giving expenditure totals in his Department's press notice No. 457, issued on 29 November.

Mr. Watts

The estimates underlying these figures are commercially sensitive and cannot therefore be revealed publicly.

Mr. Bayley

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list those items of expenditure and receipts, included under the heading "BR/Railtrack" in the table accompanying his Department's press notice No. 457, issued on 29 November, which are not included under the heading "National Railways EFL" in table 1.1 in his Department's "Transport Report 1994", Cm 2506, and vice versa.

Mr. Watts

The external finance for BR-Railtrack set out in the table accompanying the Department's press notice 457 now excludes provision for European Passenger Services Ltd., and grant from the Scottish Office to Strathclyde passenger transport executive for rail services in that region, which were included under the heading "National Railways EFR" in table 1.1 of the transport report 1994.
