§ Mr. ForthThe report of the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority on the development of value added by schools will be published shortly. The implications for the collection and aggregation of data to permit the inclusion of value-added measures in school performance tables will need to be considered against the various options for comparing pupils' actual achievements at different ages. Whatever approach is adopted will need to produce measures which are straightforward to calculate and intelligible to parents.
