Caines spent in discussions in Australia; and at what cost.
§ Mr. Charles WardleThe dates of all the visits which were undertaken by the members and the secretary of the inquiry were published in the appendices of volume 2 of the inquiry's report. The visits included discussions with the New South Wales police, the Australian federal police in Canberra and the New Zealand police service. Details of the overall expenditure of the inquiry were given in my reply to the hon. Member on 2 December 1993, at column665–66. The management of expenditure within these sums was the responsibility of the inquiry.
