To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what assessment he has made of the major ways in which police practices, control and discipline are specific to Scotland and the reasons for this.

What matters is that arrangements in Scotland are right for Scottish circumstances; in some areas the resemblance to arrangements south of the border is closer than in others.
